Originality: This sort of "animal facing the camera" shot has been done countless times before, so I cannot give this a perfect five.
Technique: Everything but the wolf is tuned out in order to focus the beast. It brings out the detail of the wolf's fur.
Impact: True impact to me, at least with humans and animals, means gazing into the subject's eyes and FEELING their presence in the photo. As the wolf isn't quite looking at the camera, some impact is lost, but it doesn't take away from the beauty of this photo.
Overall, it's a beautiful photograph, and a worthy addition to my collection.
