The Theme is pretty simple a seagull, sitting in it´s natural habitat.
(excuse me if it isn´t a seagull, my ornithological education is very poor)
The asymmetrical growing reed, is only able to create this nice framing of the whole scene through it´s well captured reflection on the water surface in combination with the great black and white realisation and the accurate set level of contrast.
Especially the reed on the inner right, wich breaks symmetry by it´s opposite direction of growth captures the sight of the viewer and leads gently to the mainsubject of the picture, which is well placed in the golden ratio.
All in all a great piece of photography and a example for the unification of simplicity and brilliancy
